1) Backing fabric needs to be at least 4" bigger on EACH side. Backing corners need to be squared (which means that all corners need to be squared to 90 degrees).
2) All seams (quilt top and backing) are pressed as flat as possible and loose threads are cut. If seams are not pressed flat, then it can lead to needle jumps or needle breakage. This usually happens when there is bulk from six seams joining together.
3) If your quilt has no border, please take a few minutes to ‘stay stitch’ around the quilt edge to prevent any additional stretching on the edges and keep pieces together. Open seams on the edges can lead to waviness, puckers, or separation.
4) Very important to remember: If your quilt has issues like wavy borders or gathers, I will try to fix it as much as possible but tucks and gathers may occur.
5) Please mark the top orientation of your quilt, particularly if it is not obvious like people standing up.
